Description: The tradition of documentary photography is very much part of contemporary American Photography. Stan Strembicki has worked as a documentary photographer on and off his entire career. In this presentation he will concentrate on two major long term projects, photographing Mardi Gras in New Orleans over three decades and a 15 year documentary project that addresses the rebuilding of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.
Stan Strembicki is an emeritus professor at Washington University where he headed the photography program for 36 years. His work can be found in many museums and collections throughout the USA and can be found on public display on all seven continents, yes, even Antarctica
