Francis Levine and Silver Wainhouse discuss the research and writing of Levine’s book Crossings: Women on the Santa Fe Trail. St. Louis occupies a key role in the history of the American West. Levine and Wainhouse explore the connections of St. Louis and Santa Fe and the roles women played in shaping the history of the West as they journeyed along the Santa Fe Trail. Levine’s book, published in 2024 by the University Press of Kansas, will be available for sale at the High Noon and at Left Bank Books.
