Feelings of Home: A Need to Simplify

“A need to simplify” is a reflection space that pays homage to the matriarchal lineage and sacred spaces of the women in my family and how those spaces are steeped with influences of protective magic, through nature, numbers, patterns, and objects. This space calls its viewers to take pause and reflect on their own maternal surroundings and ways of “making sacred space.” Calling attention to, not only, the unique ways that the black maternal lineage creates safety but also the synchronicity and necessity for safety that we share.
