Since time immemorial, sex workers have been objectified as muses of inspiration for global arts, music, fashion, and culture. Today many artists across these fields continue to profit off of ho aesthetics without crediting or advocating for people in the sex trade. The a.muse.d Performance Art Show, accompanied by the a.muse.d Art Exhibition, is a reclamation and celebration of sex workers as artists ourselves. a.muse.d is produced by and for people in the sex trade who deserve to be recognized as the cutting-edge culture makers we are, in St. Louis and beyond.
